Weekly information - Wednesday 1st May 2019
Medication
If your child has a medical condition that requires medication to be kept in the First Aid medicine cabinet during school hours or overnight, please print the “Student Medication Parental Agreement” form from the school website, complete and send in to school with the medication. We will not hold any medication in school without a signed agreement.
You should also inform the school immediately if your child’s medication changes or is discontinued, or the dose or administration method changes.
Care Plans
If your child has a medical condition that requires an Individual Health Care Plan, or an existing care plan needs updating, please contact the first aid department.
Crutches/Wheelchairs/Arm Casts/Slings
If your child will be coming into school on crutches, in a wheelchair or has an arm cast/sling please inform first aid at the earliest convenience. A risk assessment will need to be completed prior to your child’s return to school.
The school will be working with staff at Nottingham Trent University to examine the impact of Instagram and social media use on young people’s well-being and body image. We would like as many pupils as possible to take part in the project but we need parental permission for this.
If you have not already done so, would you please read the following letter and click on the link on the second page to give permission for your son/daughter to be involved. The deadline is May 22nd.
Thank you.
Each week, students are nominated for Hot Chocolate with the Head. These are students who have gone above and beyond, for example; achieving the Queens Award for Voluntary Services, competing in the UK cross country competition or acting as a mentor to support another student. If you feel your child is suitable to be nominated for this please email Dianne Whiting, PA to the Head at [email protected] with the information.

A reminder that Y9 parents evening takes place on Thursday 9th May from 4.30-7.30pm.
If you have a child in Y9, the appointment booking system is now open and you should have received an email on Monday evening with a link to the bookings (please check your junk mail). There is also a link to a help guide on making appointments.
A tile on the Schoolzine app will also take you to the booking system.
Please make sure you make appointments only with one member of staff for each subject. Your son/daughter may have more than one teacher in some subjects, but the appointment should be made with the staff member allocated to your son/daughter's class. This is clearly marked against each member of staff's name.
Please also consider prioritising those subjects which your son/daughter will be studying at GCSE. Hopefully you will manage to make appoinments with all subjects, however this is not always possible on such a busy evening.
Please check with your son/daughter if you are unsure of the class names.
