Weekly information - Wednesday 12th June 2019
It has been announced that the Early May Bank Holiday will be moving to Friday 8th, rather than Monday 4th May, to acknowledge the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
We are aware that this may impact on pre-existing bookings that may have already been made. If you are in the situation whereby bookings have been made prior to the Government announcement and evidence of this can be provided we will ensure these absences are authorised.
We are conscious that a number of our school buses arrived late on Tuesday morning due to the roadworks on the A38 at Wychnor. Buses impacted are those travelling from the Alrewas, Walton and Lichfield directions. The school has been in contact with Highways England to raise our concerns about the impact that this is having on the arrival time to examinations. The roadworks are due to be in place for, at least, the next two weeks.
Please be assured, the school has procedures in place for the late arrival of students to exams. As with this morning, the students will not be disadvantaged by the late arrive of public transport. They will get the full time allocation for the exam upon their arrival to school.
We hope that this alleviates any concerns you may have and we continue to wish our students the very best for their examinations.
There are further roadworks due to be carried out on the B5017 at the 5 Lanes End roundabout. I have spoken to Staffordshire Highways who confirmed that the closures would be between 7:30pm and 6am. As such, it is unlikely to impact significantly on transport to school from that direction. The work is due to start on the 24th June and last 10 days. Mr Twynham

A quick reminder for those going on the Paris trip this Friday.
- TIME - please be at the school between 3.45 and 4.00 in the morning.

- WATER BOTTLES - a reminder regarding water bottles - PGL would like us to bring reusable bottles to save on plastics.
- SUN CREAM! Have you seen the weather?! Looks like we will need to cream up so please pack sun cream.
- MONEY - students will need to buy something to eat on both journeys so please budget for this.
Look forward to seeing you all silly o’clock Friday! Mr Thompson
