Dear Parents
Over recent weeks it has been brought to our attention that a number of accounts on Instagram have been set up related to John Taylor High School, often including the initials JTHS. These accounts are in no way official accounts and they do not represent the views of the school.
We have taken steps to contact both Instagram and the Police in an attempt to get these accounts closed down. We will continue to pursue this.
At this time, we are asking you, as parents and carers to ensure that you are monitoring your child’s social media use. If your child has been accessing, viewing or engaging with these accounts in anyway, please encourage them not to do so.
Clear messages will be given out in assemblies over the coming weeks in relation to E-safety, digital footprints and appropriate use of social media, specifically related to cyberbullying.
We thank you in advance for your support with this.
Yours sincerely
Miss N Dean

Thank you to all parents/carers who have consented to their child being part of the collaborative research project between ourselves and Nottingham Trent. Students involved have now been emailed a direct link to the research project. This should be completed by Wednesday 17th July.
Your son/daughter may be out on work experience next week. Please ensure they have all the information they require for Monday, ie start and finish times, who to meet on your first day, dress code etc.
Please can you check that your son/daughter has entered the emergency telephone numbers into their mobile phone. In an emergency, they should contact 01283 247800 or 07592618636.
Miss A Spurrier, Work Experience Co-ordinator
A reminder that all Y10 parents/carers are welcome to find out more information about the Outlook Expedition to Borneo, 2021. The meeting will start at 6:30pm in the Hall on Wednesday 10th July.
CHANGE OF DATE
The HPV vaccinations were due to take place on Thursday, 4th July. These will now take place on Wednesday 17th July. Further details for pupils will be on their daily bulletin.
Dear Parent / Guardian,
Every year we ask Year 10 and 11 students to complete a student voice survey. The results support the English Department plan for the year ahead and refine and revise our delivery of the English Language and Literature GCSEs.
All students have been sent a link to their John Taylor email address. Please could you encourage for your son/daughter to complete the survey by Wednesday 10th July, it's very quick and easy.
Space 2019 will blast off on 22 July! The summer Space programme provides free, fun activities for 8 to 17 year-olds to help build confidence, develop life skills and improve health and general wellbeing. Activities are added daily so keep checking www.staffordshirespace.uk to see what is happening where you live.
Lichfield Advanced Motorists are offering a free of charge opportunity for car drivers and learners to experience Advanced Driving skills for themselves. For full details, please click on the link below.
