Sherwood House is one of the six Houses at John Taylor House School. Sherwood House is made up of 11 tutor groups, which consists of about 300 students. The students in Sherwood House are identified by wearing the colour Green on their school uniform and PE kits.

Sherwood House is led by Miss Bale the House Learning Manager and a dedicated team of House Leaders. At the beginning of the academic year Sherwood House Council representatives are elected. The job of the House Council is to take responsibility for the leadership and organisation of their house throughout the forthcoming year.

House competitions take place throughout the year, all competitions give the students the opportunity to win house points. House points are added together and the house with the most points at the end of the year wins the overall house competition. Students quickly form an allegiance to their house and a sense of fun and friendly competition pervades all the house events:

Sherwood House is widely renown for the immense amount of charity events that the students and Miss Bale organise and participate in. The house charity for Sherwood is St Giles Hospice as Sherwood House strongly believes in giving something back the local community.
