Food Investigation Task (NEA1) - title to be released by AQA in September.  Research, practical investigation and analysis, leading to evaluation.

Verbal feedback and advice on how their work can be improved/suitability for exam. Assessed against AQA Mark Scheme.

Past papers, revision tasks for home learning.

Autumn 2

Food Preparation Task (NEA2) – title released by AQA in Novemeber.  Analysis of the task, research, practical work to create trial products (4). Evaluation and reflection

Assessment of research according the exam board criteria Feedback given on suitability of practical choices and how they can be improved/developed in line with the plan. Theory Trial Examination

Spring 1

Feedback on trial Examination Trial practicals continue, development of time plan leading to formal assessment.

 Controlled Assessment Planning and research section completed in lessons. Marked to exam board criteria

Spring 2

Practical Exam February/March -Parents/Carers and pupils told of day/time in advance. Evaluation of Planning and Research section and Practical exam carried out in lessons.

3 hour exam session.  Marked to exam board criteria. Evaluation section marked to exam board criteria and completed task is graded in line with exam board mark/grade.

Summer 1

Revision of all topics on the specification using a variety of resources and techniques. Revision materials to include exam style questions, revision maps etc. After school revision sessions arranged.

All past questions and exam papers marked in line with mark schemes. A series of mini tests to help breakdown the revision into chunks to aid revision.

Summer 2

Revision continued in class/arranged revision sessions.
