Free School Meals provision

During this period of remote learning, we will continue to support our students who are eligible for free school meals through the weekly provision of food hampers. This has been ongoing for those students affected by periods of self-isolation and now will become a universal offer for all students who qualify for this provision. A weekly email is currently sent to all eligible families with a link to a questionnaire requesting a hamper. This includes details regarding collection of the hamper.

If your child is eligible for free school meals and you have any queries regarding the provision of these hampers, please contact Mr Murphy on this email address:

Key Worker and Vunerable Students Attending School

Key Worker and Vulnerable Students attending school

Following the Prime Ministers Announcement on the 4th January, John Taylor High School will be providing supervised remote learning for Vulnerable children and the children of Key Workers.

Information regarding Key Workers can be found here:

Critical workers and vulnerable children who can access schools or educational settings - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

All Key Workers and Parents of Vulnerable students need to complete a booking form for each week that their child is attending. Key Workers will also be asked to provide proof of employment, this can be a photo of your ID badge or a letter from your employer.

If your child is classed as vulnerable you will have already been contacted by a member of the SEN or Safeguarding teams.

If you believe you are a key worker or your child meets the criteria of Vulnerable please email Mrs Toy to discuss this [email protected]

We strongly encourage all parents to support the school in carrying out Lateral Flow Testing. Parents will need to complete a consent form stating whether their child can or cannot be tested. Children will be tested twice weekly, 3-5 days apart.

We appreciate that there may be last minute changes to your working arrangements. If you need to make changes please email Mrs Toy [email protected].

If your child is displaying any of the precautionary symptoms of Covid-19 or any of the three main symptoms, please arrange for them to be tested as soon as possible and isolate as per government guidance.
