All - UPDATE: Government Data Allowance Scheme to Support Children Studying Remotely
Dear Parents,
In last week's newsletter we circulated a form regarding the opportunity for parents to apply for increased mobile data to support your child's home learning via a government scheme.
Since last week O2 and Vodafone have also joined the scheme. If you are with them and want to now apply, or did not apply last week for this temporary increase in mobile data but now wish to please complete the form and we will send your information to the JTMAT who have to apply for you on our behalf. Please can the form be submitted by 13:00 on Tuesday 19th January.
To those who previously submitted you do not need to fill in the form again. We have processed the responses and depending on mobile operator turnaround time you will receive a text message from them directly once it has been set up by them.
Who can get help
As a school we are able to apply for increased data allowances for children and young people who:
- do not have fixed broadband at home
- cannot afford additional data for their devices
- are experiencing disruption to their face-to-face education
Children with access to a mobile phone on one of the following networks might be able to benefit:
- Three
- Smarty
- O2
- Virgin Mobile
- EE
- Vodafone
- Tesco Mobile
- Sky Mobile
Other providers may join the scheme at a later stage.
How to request a mobile data increase
We have to submit a request centrally as a school. If you wish for us to apply for your child please can you complete the following online form by 13:00 on TUESDAY 19th JANUARY:
TEMPORARY DATA INCREASE APPLICATION FORM
Following the deadline we will collate and submit the requests and each mobile provider will vary in how quickly they process requests.
Once a network provider has processed a data increase, they’ll send a text message to the account holder.
We hope this scheme will help you support your child during this time, but as always if your child is having any issues accessing the remote learning please contact the relevant Head of Year in the first instance.
Kind regards,
The Senior Leadership Team

Y8 - Online Maths Test Thurs 21st January
Year 8 will be doing an online maths test during their maths lessons on Thursday 21st January 2021. Students have been emailed a revision list and some guidance for revision. As this test is being done remotely, the purpose of this assessment is purely to allow pupils and their teachers to know what they have and have not understood during the past few topics so this can inform future revision and support.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
